Hi i would like to ask something.When we are adding the boxes :First Name,Last Name,Address,Postal Code in the Register.aspx i know that we don't have a validation for them,so i added it. For example RegularExpressionValidator for Postal Code(Postal code should be 5 Digits) but when i added RequiredFieldValidator so the field can't be blank-null anymore when registering the messages about username that is taken,password must be at leaast 6 characters and passwords must match are no longer printed out on the screen. Do you know how to do the validation to solve the problem without affecting the messages. Should i only make validation in Register.aspx.cs file and if yes how should i do this?

Hi, Once I changed the clientId value from string clientId = "-1" to the string clientId = Context.User.Identity.GetUserId(), the application throws a formatting error("An exception of type 'System.FormatException' occurred in mscorlib.dll but was not handled in user code") that points to the DateAdded (DatePurchased in your tutorial). This was not happening before adding the Context.User.Identity.GetUserId (and didn't happen when I returned to string clientId= "-1"). Any idea why this is affecting the dateAdded value? code below: ***************************************************************** protected void btnAdd_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { btnAdd.Enabled = false; if (!string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(Request.QueryString["id"])) { string clientId = Context.User.Identity.GetUserId(); //string clientId = "-1"; if (clientId != null) { string carDescribed = myCar.Text; int id = Convert.ToInt32(Request.QueryString["id"]); int amount = Convert.ToInt32(txtQuantity.Text); cart NewInCart = new cart { ClientId = Convert.ToInt32(clientId), ProductId = id, Quantity = amount, Price = 0, CarDescription = carDescribed, StatusId = 1, DateAdded = DateTime.Now}; EnquiryModel eModel = new EnquiryModel(); lblResult.Text = eModel.InsertCartItem(NewInCart); lblShopping.Text = "**************To continue shopping, click the Webshop link**************"; } else { lblResult.Text = "Please log in to add items to the enquiry cart"; } } }
